Sh. Ajay Verma

Chief Executive Officer

Sh. Ajay Verma joined Chandigarh International Airport Limited on 20-05-2024 as Chief Executive Officer. He joined Airports Authority of India on 31-08-1988 immediately after his post-graduation in Mathematics. He had also acquired MBA specialization in Marketing and PG Diploma in Public Relations and PM&IR. He is having 35 years of rich experience in the CNS & Airport Operations and served in managerial cadre at various airports and Central Head Quarter, New Delhi. He joined AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Company Services Limited (AAICLAS) on 24th May 2023 as a General Manager/Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). He is instrumental in developing the indigenous Smart- Visual Docking Guidance System (S-VDGS) as a project manager through AAI start-up & Make in India initiative project. He was actively involved in framing various policies on Terminal Management & Operations and Passenger facilitation. He has also played a major role in implementation of Public Grievance redressal Mechanism and accessible India Campaign for PwDs at AAI Airports. He was involved in framing policies on Air cargo handling in co-ordination with MoCA, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and other regulatory authorities of GOI. He was engaged in Augmentation of Air Cargo Infrastructure, Capacity and Revenue source.

Sh. Surender Kumar

Mr. Surender Kumar is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL), with over two decades of distinguished experience in the aviation sector. A Commerce graduate from Kurukshetra University and a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI), he brings strong expertise in financial governance, strategic planning, compliance, and technology-driven financial transformation. Having begun his career with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as a Junior Executive (Finance), he has held key leadership roles across multiple airports and has been instrumental in implementing integrated revenue management systems, developing airport tariff models in support of AERA, contributing to economic regulation and cost-recovery policies, and strengthening CPF Trust operations through compliant digital platforms. A recipient of the AAI Award for Exemplary & Dedicated Services and a Letter of Appreciation from the AAI Chairman, Mr. Kumar is known for his collaborative leadership, ethical governance, and continued contribution to financial excellence at CHIAL.

Nimit Sharma is an accomplished Company Secretary and a distinguished member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), with over 9 years of diverse professional experience across sectors including Corporate Law Consultancy, NBFC-Banking, Pharmaceuticals, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Delhi (South Campus) and is also a qualified law graduate, which reinforces his comprehensive understanding of corporate and regulatory frameworks. In addition, he has earned multiple professional certifications from ICSI in key areas such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), and Corporate Restructuring. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership in legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and strategic regulatory transitions. One of his key achievements includes successfully managing the complex transition process of converting a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) into a Small Finance Bank, showcasing his deep knowledge of financial regulations and licensing frameworks. ​With a grip over statutory compliances and governance processes, he continues to contribute to strengthening the legal and compliance functions in the organizations he associates with.
